Example Essay on My Favorite Cartoon Character: Doraemon
Cartoons are the best illustrations that represent a character of either human, animal, or any specific thought or idea delivered to the audience through these cartoon characters. Cartoons are a source of amusement for children but they carry an equal potential to grab the attention of people of other ages including older people. Cartoons that we visualize on the TV screen are generally created in comic plots with funny storylines.
Cartoons are a kind of mind therapy and are generally believed as stress relievers. Cartoons are not only for the purpose of fun and comedy, but they also play an important role in the training of young ones and as we see, today, these cartoon illustrations are used in educational institutions for the learning purposes of children.
Many cartoon series have become famous nowadays and now these cartoon series are even broadcasted on television as animated series and animated series like Spider-Man, Batman which are Marvel movies have now become so famous that they are watched all around the world including Indian subcontinent and Arab countries. Now, these animated cartoon programs are even aired in Pakistan and India and cartoon TV channels include Hotstar+ and Disney Network India in India and Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon Pakistan in Pakistan. Among all these cartoon programs, my favorite cartoon series is Doraemon.
Doraemon is an animated Manga Japanese cartoon series that was written and illustrated by Fujika F. Fujio and published by Shogakukan in the year of 1973. Manga is actually Japanese cartoons and comics which use a prehistoric style of writing comics and nowadays, this is recognized as the general cartoon style of the country internationally.
The first edition was published in 1973, the second in 1979, and this was also aired as an anime TV series from 2005 till the day. This is now originally under the production of TV Asahi, Japan. Due to its fame and hype, it was aired on Amazon Kindle in Europe, Disney India, and Hotstar+ in Indian countries that include India and Pakistan. It has been aired in over 60 different countries of the world that include the Philippines, Portugal, Thailand, gulf countries, Vietnam, and other Asian countries including China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and South Korea. It has also been aired in South American countries that include Brazil, Colombia, and Chili and over digital platforms like YouTube and Dailymotion, etc.
These animated TV series include a number of characters among which the main characters are Takeshi Goda, Nobita Nobi, Sunio Honekawa, Shizuka Minamoto, Hidetoshi Dekisugi, Doraemon, and Dorami. Among all these characters, my favorite character is Doraemon who is also the leading character of the program.
Doraemon is a male cat robot from the 22nd century, with no ears and blue color, travels back in time with the help of a time machine into the 21st century to help a boy who belongs to "The Nobi family†named Nobita Nobi, another main character of the series. The body figure of Doraemon has a separate fan base and is a source of enjoyment for all the fans. He has a pitched voice which is also a source of amusement. His body shape resembles a raccoon dog but Doraemon, as of character, takes it as a satirical statement which also provides another level of fun to the audience. Dorami is the younger sister of Doraemon while Mini Dora are small copy versions of Doraemon and are three in number with three different colors.
Doraemon is a character who is loved by the audience due to the qualities that distinguish him from all other characters in the show. He has a pocket that contains a large number of strange magical scientific gadgets which he uses to help others. This gives a reflection of science fiction to the story. His favorite food is Dora cake and he has a list of these cakes specially designed in this show for these cat robots.
One more fun fact about this character is that he loves cats so much. The cat he loves the most is called Meechan. Another taste in the story of this character is that he has a phobia of mice and goes into a state of unconsciousness whenever he sees a mouse.
The most wonderful quality due to which I love this cartoon series and this character the most is his help and care for Nobita. Nobita Nobi is an unlucky boy from a middle-standard family and he is not good at anything. He does not get good grades and is not good in games, is always beaten up by Takeshi and teased by Sunio all the time. He weeps like a child, is very lazy, and never completes his homework.
But Doraemon helps him in his studies and games and fulfills all his needs and demands and tries to make him happy all the time using his gadgets. Indeed, this character is a blend of care, affection, emotions, science, fun, and many more qualities and is a character who must be loved and appreciated.
