Guidelines On Writing An Analogy Essay
- Analogy essay is subdivided into two half whereby one half explains the issue and the other becomes the explainer. For instance if you relate growing up with things like learning to ride a bike, it may sound something complex but you are explaining it with another simple that readers can relate with.
- Set stage for your analogy essay by writing a draft of your topic. Analogy topic is not very direct like other essay it tries to strike a chord of understanding and puzzlement.
- Divide your paper into half using a vertical line at the middle of your paper. One half side you talk about the characteristics of the explainer while the other side talks about the explained. Match up the characteristics with each explained points.
- Discuss the explainer in a paragraph or so to be clear to the reader. For example; if you have a starting statement which looks like "growing up is like learning to ride a bike†in your explainer paragraph explain the different stages of learning to ride a bike.
- Discuss the explained in different paragraph. Your starting statements in this paragraph should be giving an overview of what the two shares. In case of our example above, we can argue that growing up comes with some freedom and one confidence rises up. Write down points that show steps of the explained in a way that parallels the explainer.
- There are differences that emerge along. When you discover a very important aspect of the explained that doesn’t relate or go hand in hand with the explainer, note the difference down. For instance when you completely learn to ride a bike, the other factor does not stop you still continue to grow up.
Analogy tends to give more meaning and display dimension of one thing as compared to another. In-order to have good analogy see to it that two things that you are comparering have enough similarities which will be enough to justify the comparison you may be making.
