How To Write A Comparison Essay Outline Between Different Subjects

A comparison essay is an essay that tries to compare and analyze two different subject matter; their differences and similarities. You start working out on your thesis statement after you have developed the two subject matters that you are going to be talking about.  The two subjects should be different enough and have good sense of similarities. At least the subjects should a bit common in some ways.  Write a comparison that is meaningful in ideas systematically without mixing up ideas.

Steps to follow when writing a point-by-point comparison essay

• Make an outline of your essay

An outline will always help you have a template to follow. It will give you a guide on working out the main structure to stick to as you develop your ideas. One of the main structures within your essay is

1. The introduction; introduction will give the information on the subject under comparison. It will give out point of argument that will help you develop main argument.  Using three set of points of comparison argue out your thesis statement.
2. Body paragraph; the body is where more weight of your essay is. Divide your body into different sections at those sections tackle different division of proof. Provide evidence and analyze them to connect the proofs and thesis. You can organize your essay in a three paragraph point by point on each.
3. Write another short paragraph where you acknowledge counter arguments as you make remarks on your own view.
4. Write the conclusion paragraphs where you rewrite the thesis statement and you write summary of the evidence that you have.

• Write the body paragraph in point by point, making comparison of the two subjects under review. Follow a specific arrangement that you understand clearly.  These will also your readers to understand them correctly.
• State your organization in clear manner and display your ideas in an understandable manner.
• Writing having your audience in mind and place yourself in their shoes. Figure out how they will respond to your ideas. Figure out if they will understand, agree or support your ideas.
• As a writer concentrate on the points as you compare and contrast them. Say what you want to as you support your own point of view.
