How To Manage Your Lectures With A Horrible Professor

Navigating A Class With A Difficult Professor

There are a number of different types of professors. They include the disorganized one, the one who cannot teach, and the one that you cannot understand. Sometimes you can get a horrible professor and this happens to most students. Therefore, how do you deal with horrible professors?

  1. The one that you do not understand

It is not that this professor is not intelligent or good at their profession, but you cannot understand anything they say. This is because they either have an accent, talk so fast or are old. If you have such professors, record their lectures. Sit at the front of the class and use a recorder then play the recording after class at half speed so you can get all the ideas down.

You can also get together with other students, do homework, and study together. Maybe other students understand some parts that you did not. In addition, use your resources like YouTube videos, textbooks, other professors, and khan academy. Supplement your classes with whatever you can.

  1. A professor who cannot teach

These kinds of professors might have a doctorate in their profession but cannot teach. It does not matter how intelligent they are if they cannot teach in the right way you will not learn anything from them. Consider visiting the tutoring center and get help from other students who major in that area. Read your textbooks and go through the assigned pages before class. Doing this will help you make sense of what the professor is going to lecture. Also, ask questions in class. If you did not understand something, ask your professor and let them explain it to you.

  1. The disorganized professor

If you are someone that needs guidelines and deadlines, this kind of professor will make you lose your mind. This professor makes everything as they go along. While it may sound fun, it is stressful when you have a 5-page paper due and have no idea what to write about. Such professors never answer your questions and never release your grades until the semester is over. With such a professor, find someone who has taken that class before and ask what the professor expects and how they managed that class.

These tips will help you navigate through college with difficult professors.
