With the increase in challenges and customer demands, organizations are always trying to be innovative. New approaches are used in tackling challenges, hence giving an organization a competitive edge. The U.S army organization has played an imperative role in the modernization programs (Woodward, 2014). The organization has been able to enhance effectiveness and efficiency. In terms of effectiveness, the manufacturing sector of the servicemen manufacture customized goods that meet the intended function (McPherson, 2010). The efficiency has been fostered though process that are aimed at reducing wastage of resources. Organizations use various strategies in an attempt to gain a competitive edge. The Six Sigma is one of the most efficient tools used in enhancing productivity within organizations. The U.S army has employed Lean Six Sigma strategies and Kaizen concepts that have assisted in saving time, money, and promoting productivity. Other factors that make U.S army organization more efficient, effective, and productive include customer relations, innovation, and project planning. Proper implementation of these concepts assists organization gain a competitive edge.
