Tips Of Writing A Successful High School Entry Essay

High school application essay needs to depict your personality and breathe life into your application, showing who you are even if the reader knows nothing about you.

 Think about your readers, how you can convey a message about you to them.  The high school admission essay is your chance to share your personality, goals, influences, challenges, triumphs, life experiences, or lessons learned to the admission officers.

To make you essay exceptional is to work a systematic, piece-by-piece. The result should be a carefully designed, insightful essay that makes you stand out.  Make the admission officers to know about you by being personal and honest.

1. The Prompt

Be comfortable and understand the question asked. This will help you ease into the process.

After you have finished writing your essay, you should check that your essay still reflects the question asked. This is an important since it will determine how you write your essay.

You can do this by:

  • Read the essay questions and/or prompts and re-read.
  • Take some time to think about what is being asked
  • Brainstorm.

2. Brainstorming

Get your ideas your ideas by creatively brainstorming ideas that can answer your question(s).

  • Do not rely solely on the computer spelling and grammar check.
  • Have another person  read your essay
  • Read your essay backwards. Read your essay aloud.
  • Check for consistency.

6. Tying up loose ends

After you have finished writing your essay, you should celebrate your accomplishment and remember to include all the details that are asked by the admission committee.
